Revealing the magic of Euridge Manor: a venue guide

When I drove up the sweeping driveway to Euridge Manor, I was incredibly excited and knew I was in for a real treat! Truth be told, Euridge Manor has been on my wedding venue wish list for quite some time! For me, this exquisite old manor house set in spectacular grounds on the edge of the Cotswolds really has it all: style, grandeur, elegance, romance, luxury… I could go on and on!

So, what is it that makes this wedding venue so special? Well, let me tell you all about it!

About Euridge Manor

Euridge Manor dates back to the 17th century, and lies within the grounds of Sir Walter Raleigh’s old hunting lodge. The Georgian-style manor house has been beautifully restored, and blends original features with modern amenities to provide a perfect balance of timeless elegance and contemporary luxury. So if charm and style are your thing, then this is definitely a venue to add to your must-visit list!

The grounds at Euridge Manor

Now, I really couldn’t write a post about Euridge Manor without writing something about the grounds. The gardens are absolutely glorious, and offer so many fabulous backdrops for your photos! From the immaculate lush green lawns, fragrant blooms, carefully pruned topiary, gently trickling fountains to the sun-drenched terraces all bound by the ruined castle walls, they really are something else. And of course, not forgetting the gorgeous thatched boat house overlooking the lake! There are just so many stunning spots for you and your wedding guests to explore and enjoy!

Your ceremony at Euridge Manor

The good news at Euridge Manor is that the venue is licensed for marriages and civil partnerships and there are six different locations to choose from – some indoors and some outdoors. So no matter what the British weather throws at you, you’re covered.

Here are the six ceremony options:

  1. The thatched boathouse
This is an absolute corker of a location and exudes Italian villa vibes! The boathouse is licensed to seat up to 20 people, but you can also have guests viewing from under the pergolas on either side. May is a particularly beautiful time to have your wedding at the boathouse when the purple wisteria is in full bloom. The boathouse is even equipped with a sound system so your guests can easily hear your ceremony. And of course you can choose music to be played there too.
  2. The castle ruins
If you’ve googled Euridge Manor, then you’ve no doubt seen numerous photos of newly married couples standing beneath the sparkling crystal chandelier that hangs in the archway of the ruined castle! It’s definitely one of Euridge’s signature shots, and is it any wonder?!
  3. The Pergola
Just next to the chandelier archway is the Pergola. This is a fantastic ceremony option, particularly for weddings in mid-August when the beautiful soft-pink English roses are in full bloom.
  4. The Cloister
The Cloister is perfect for couples choosing to have a more intimate indoor ceremony. It has seating for 40 guests.
  5. The Lost Orangery
The Lost Orangery is a beautiful light-filled space with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, and opulent crystal chandeliers, and is a great option for ceremonies in the cooler months of the year. It can seat up to 120 guests.
  6. The Ballroom
The Ballroom is the largest ceremony space at Euridge with seating for up to 160 guests. There are gold chandeliers, and like the Orangery, the Ballroom also has floor-to-ceiling windows that allow that gorgeous natural light to flood in.

Or, if you’d prefer a traditional church wedding, then look no further than the nearby village churches in Colerne and Castle Combe.

Your evening wedding celebrations at Euridge Manor

During the Summer months you can enjoy an al fresco dinner in the gardens, seated under the Portico. Alternatively, you can choose between The Lost Orangery (with seating for up to 50 dinner guests) and The Ballroom (with seating for up to 150 dinner guests). Here your guests can enjoy a feast under the romantic ambience of the twinkling chandeliers and gently flickering candlelight. And later the tables can be removed to make way for dancing. The outdoor fire pits, candles and braziers can also be lit to give you and your guests even more ways to enjoy the grounds as you head into the night.

Good to know – if you love a good party then it’s worth booking a weekend wedding when you can dance the night away until 12:30am (with carriages at 1am). During the week, all music must finish by 11pm.

Accommodation at Euridge Manor

And yes, you can stay at Euridge too! There are 15 beautiful bedrooms and suites (sleeping 32 people), so you and your guests can enjoy a relaxed wedding morning getting ready.

Here are the accommodation options:

  • The Cloister Suite sleeps up to 5 people and has 2 ensuite rooms (included in the hire price)
  • The Orangery sleeps 4 and has 2 double ensuite rooms (included in the hire price)
  • Christine’s Cabin sleeps 2 with an ensuite (included in the hire price)
  • Peartree Cottage sleeps 6 and has 3 double bedrooms, and a shared bathroom (not included in hire price)
  • Bluebell Cottage sleeps 6 and has 2 doubles, 1 twin, and a shared bathroom (not included in hire price)
  • Ivy Cottage sleeps 9 and has 3 doubles, 1 double/single/triple bunk room, and 2 shared bathrooms (not included in hire price)

As you might expect from luxury accommodation, all linen and towels are provided and the kitchens are fully equipped. Pricing for the additional accommodation depends on the time of the year, and whether you’re having a midweek or weekend wedding. There’s also the option to hire additional fold-up beds at £30 plus VAT per bed. Travel cots and high chairs are free of charge.

Euridge Manor Hire Costs

Euridge Manor offers three-day exclusive use hire for every wedding (10am Tuesday to 4pm Thursday or 10am Friday to 4pm Sunday). During peak wedding season in 2023, the minimum price you can expect to pay is £23,000 plus VAT.

The hire price covers the exclusive use of all the areas, including the small rowing boat. To secure your wedding date, an upfront payment of 30% is required. Additionally, 30% of the total amount is due six months prior to your wedding. The remaining balance is then due two months before your big day. It is also important to allocate £1,000 as a damage deposit, which is due at the same time as the final instalment.

It’s worth noting that Euridge is hired on a “dry hire” basis. This means that while you have access to the venue and some accommodation, you’ll have to book all your own wedding suppliers. Chairs and tables are also not included, but you can rent them from the venue to help you save on delivery times and costs.

While Euridge Manor has a Duty Manager who will be available during your hire, no other staff are provided. As a condition of your hire agreement, you will need to hire a wedding planner or coordinator. But this is definitely a good thing because it means you can fully relax and enjoy your celebrations, knowing that every aspect of your wedding is being taken care of by professionals.
