Although a bit of a grey autumnal day, Elizabethan mansion Great Fosters nevertheless looked stunning and everyone had a fantastic time. Every ounce of this wedding day had been planned to a T and it was a pleasure to be part of it.
I arrived in the morning to spend time with the bride, Frances, and her bridesmaids who were getting ready at the hotel, while second shooter Kathryn (of Kathryn Fell Photography) was with the the groom, Scott, and the boys at his family home nearby. Frances looked truly beautiful. Her elegant Miss Stella York wedding dress was complimented beautifully by a flawless, natural-makeup look and classic hair undo by Carolanne Armstrong Hair and Makeup. Absolute bridal perfection.
Before long, guests were invited to take their seats in the Orangery for the ceremony, which was full of smiles, laughter and the odd tear here and there. Everything a wedding ceremony should be.
After the I do’s, guests were offered champagne as well as a variety of on-theme orange cocktails (to match the gorgeous flowers by Angel Flowers) in the Painted Hall and gardens. During cocktail hour I also borrowed Scott and Frances for some couple photos which was an absolute joy. The stunning 50 acres of gardens – with a Japanese bridge, lake, sunken rose garden, and Saxon moat – provide an idyllic backdrop. We were in fact totally spoilt for choice!
Late afternoon, guests headed into the Tithe Barn and were treated to a gourmet experience and top-notch service by the Great Fosters team, followed by dancing until carriages at midnight.
To Scott and Frances: I am so happy that you picked me to photograph your wedding. Every moment was a pleasure and I hope you will treasure these photos for many years to come. Thank you to you and your lovely friends and family for making my photography work an absolute joy! I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
A few words from the groom:
“From what started as a photoshoot for my wife and I’s engagement, we instantly knew we wanted Lorna to do the photography for our wedding. She has been fantastic all the way through with regular check-ups, making sure we knew what we wanted the plan to be and always made time for us. If you are reading this and need to book a photographer then stop and book her now, it will be the (apart from getting married) best decision you can make. 100/10 can’t recommend enough (my wife, the statistician, is hating me for that comment…).”
– Scott
