A Spring wedding at the Elephant Hotel, Pangbourne

I am really excited to share the photos from Emily and Tom’s Spring wedding The Elephant Hotel – a nineteenth century eclectic boutique hotel, with an Indian-Empire theme, nestled in the heart of the historic village of Pangbourne in Berkshire. It was a beautiful, relaxed and intimate affair and I loved every minute!

The Elephant Hotel isn’t a venue I’d been to before, but the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, and looked after every detail to make sure Emily and Tom’s day went smoothly.

Flowers made a real impact at this wedding. The ceremony room was beautifully decorated with pots of forget-me-nots lining the aisle and four potted blossom trees filling the air with their sweet scent. I think the trees were a particularly thoughtful touch, and I love the idea that they could be planted in the couple’s garden afterwards to be enjoyed for years to come. What wonderful memories those trees will bring back! The reception room was also beautifully decorated. Being keen gin fans, the couple had named each table after a different type of gin. And on each table taking centre stage stood said bottle of gin decorated with flowers and surrounded by smaller jars of flowers and gold tealight holders. I loved this rustic and natural look, and the scent of the flowers in the room was amazing!

Emily and Tom clearly have very talented friends and family. Not only did they help decorate the rooms the day before, but one of them had also made their semi-naked, three-tiered chocolate cake which looked stunning! Like the beautiful asymmetrical bouquets and flowers on the tables, the cake was similarly decorated with white anemones, lily of the valley, wax flower and pink ranunculus. And I’m told the cake tasted delicious too!

To Emily and Tom: Many congratulations to you both! It was such a joy and an honour to capture all those special moments on your wedding day, and I wish you every happiness in your future together!

Feedback form the happy couple…

“Lorna did an amazing job photographing our wedding – aside from capturing all the right moments and taking beautiful photos, she was a pleasure to be around, and really put us at our ease on the big day. Lorna was supportive and patient before and after the wedding when details were being decided upon, made useful suggestions, and was nothing but helpful throughout the whole process. We are so pleased with the photos themselves, and the high-quality album that Lorna put together for us. Whether the shots are natural or posed, close-up detail or a wider scene, they are all carefully and sensitively composed, and look fantastic. We feel lucky to have had such a talented and nice photographer cement the memories of the day, that we can now treasure for a lifetime. After the wedding, lots of our guests commented on how great Lorna was on the day, and everyone loves the photographs. We wouldn’t hesitate for one second to recommend Lorna, and wish her all the best for the future!”
