When Sarah and Chris booked me for their wedding at The Grange Hampshire, I couldn’t help but do a happy dance! While there are a LOT of amazing wedding venues in Hampshire, for me, The Grange is something else… Set in 60 acres of parkland, this imposing neoclassical manor house with charmingly dilapidated interiors offers a truly unique and exceptionally romantic setting.
Decorating The Grange Hampshire
You could tell from the way Sarah and Chris had decorated the place that keeping their guests happy and comfortable was really important to them. With a little help from Virginia’s Vintage Hire, they created some relaxed lounge areas. Winchester Bar Services ensured that their guests were kept well-watered throughout the happy occasion, and The Grange’s in-house food magician Becca Cooper provided the most delicious feast!
Flowers made a real impact at this wedding. Using peacock feathers, white roses, eucalyptus, lavender, sea holly, and dried grasses, a family friend created stunning bouquets, buttonholes and other fabulous floral arrangements which were dotted around the venue. The statement sweeping staircase at The Grange was also beautifully decorated with romantically flickering candles, fairy lights, and wreaths wound their way up the stairs.
Wedding outfits
Oh, and let’s not forget how fabulous the wedding party looked! Sarah wore an exquisite dress by Allure Bridals from The Bridal Mill. In-keeping with the white, blue and sage-green colour-scheme, the bridesmaids wore mis-matching blue dresses from JJs House, and the chaps wore sage-green tweed suits from Moss Bros.
The Wedding Day
The couple chose to get married under the portico at The Grange with gorgeous views across the lake. While it was a sunny day, it was extremely windy. So, at the last minute, I made the suggestion that the bride defy tradition and walk down the aisle on the right rather than on the left so that she wouldn’t have to continually battle with her veil in her face all the way through the ceremony. Problem averted, phew!
Aside from the pesky wind, it was a truly magical day and everything a wedding should be. It was filled with love, laughter, happiness and dancing into the night under glittering chandeliers with music from Mammoth Jams. Here are a few more photo highlights from their special day.
HUGE congratulations to Sarah and Chris and thank you so much for asking me to be part of your special day at The Grange. I loved every minute and you guys were amazing!
A few words from the happy couple…
“Lorna was a fantastic photographer for our wedding. We had a lovely engagement shoot with her to settle in and she was so friendly, making us instantly feel very relaxed about the shoot. On our wedding day she caught some wonderful photos, was very organised and communicative, gave us some fab tips and saved the day with my veil when the weather proved to be a *bit* windier than planned. Thank you so much Lorna, we can’t thank you enough and will highly recommend you to everyone we know!”

Would I love to photograph a wedding at The Grange again?
Yes, absolutely! It’s fair to say that I have totally fallen in love with the place, and can’t wait to go back! So if you’re getting married there and need a photographer, please get in touch. I would be delighted to hear from you.
